What is GIGAPIXEL photography?

It is a technique that captures the smallest details of a painting.

How is it possible ?

The digital camera moves vertically and horizontally in front of the painting.
Several dozen photos are taken and then stitched using software to form just one,
which contains millions pixels .

What is the interest for a museum?

There are many applications, some examples:

- make you want to come and visit the museum by highlighting key works .

- create original content for all the museum's internet windows (official website, social networks).

- allow the visitor to see a work before the visit or review it afterwards .

- show the work exhaustively from a distance (study, expertise, etc.).

- seduce a wider audience thanks to playful interactivity.

- use in very large size (printing, communication...) a detail of work.

IS IT COMPLICATED TO SET UP?

The system I developed is light and portable .

No need to detach the painting to bring it to studio, or  to wait for the closing day.
You have just to prohibit the immediate proximity of the painting to the public during the shooting
(3 hours on average).
